Castle Hills

Castle Hills, located in Bexar County, is an enclave of San Antonio and about 10 miles north of the downtown. Castle Hills is known for its quaint, tree-lined streets and laid-back lifestyle – despite its proximity to downtown. Residents have easy access to the airport, downtown, the River Walk, and the Medical Center via Loop 410. Castle Hills was ranked #11 “Best Suburbs to Live in San Antonio Area” by Niche.com.

Many people consider moving to Castle Hills for its urban AND suburban feel. Although quaint and quiet, Castle Hills has lively restaurants and bars, trendy coffee shops, and plenty of outdoor activities all year round. 

Residents and visitors can freely explore the beauty of nature right in Castle Hills. One of the famous parks in Bexar County is the Commons of Castle Hills, where you can enjoy the hiking trails, the nearby food trucks, and free picnic tables if you want to bring your own food. Many events are held at the Commons every year to include: Movie Night, Christmas Tree Lighting, Easter Egg Hunt, Snow Day, and Back to School Picnic with the Mayor.

Castle Hills is a vibrant community, and many of the homes have large lots with an abundance of trees. The median sales price for homes in Castle Hills has gone up almost 50 percent year-over-year and is currently at $520,000. These homes usually come with a spacious backyard and a house with nicely decorated interior and high-quality appliances.

The public school system in Castle Hills is well regarded. Children living in Castle Hills are zoned to attend Castle Hills Elementary School, the North East Independent School District’s, only year-round school, and popular choice with parents. There are also many top private schools in the area for parents who prefer private education for their children. 

Private schools offered in the area are Antonian College Preparatory, Castle Hills First Baptist School, Saint George Episcopal School, Cornerstone Christian School, and the Eleanor Kolitz Academy.

In this quaint town, you’ll find some amazing restaurants that will satisfy any craving. One of our favorite restaurants in Castle Hills is Clementine. Owners and chefs, John & Elise Russ, serve up seasonal eats inspired by global flavors in a casual setting. For sushi lovers, head on over to Sushihana, where they’re known to serve some of the freshest and finest traditional Japanese and modern Asian Fusion cuisines.

For pizza night, dine in, take out, or get delivered some of the tastiest southern Italian cuisine from Dough Pizzeria Napoletana.
